Exploratory Clubs

MSB is committed to bringing out the best in each student and works on fostering and strengthening growth in our students. The Middle & High School students now have the opportunity to make their own choices among a range of interesting Exploratory Clubs to enrich their learning after school.

From Science, MSB TV, Math, to Junior Model United Nations, Horticulture and Robotics, the clubs offer wonderful opportunities for students to gain greater independence and develop multiple skills through well-designed projects.

Students will be challenged to sharpen skills such as communication, critical thinking, collaboration, presentation and public speaking. There is a strong focus on inquiry, asking and answering higher-order questions.

The MSB Broadcasting and Robotic Clubs are currently underway. Students in the broadcasting club are experiencing what it is like to run a newscast program in our newly created broadcasting studio.

“We will begin to broadcast a live news show later this month,” said Peter, STEAM Education and Media Technology Coordinator. “During our production, students will be taking turns in various roles to make our broadcast successful.  They will be developing life skills that they can apply throughout their learning, now and in the future.”

The Robotics Club began to explore how we can program robots to carry out specific tasks. Students will be working with the Lego EV3 Mindstorm Robot to develop their coding skills, as well as other 21st-century skills such as creativity, problem-solving and collaboration.

Montessori Secondary programs, for Middle and High School students aged 12-18, respond to the adolescent’s need to exhibit creativity, to problem solve, to take responsibility, and to claim independence. It integrates rigorous academic studies with purposeful work, preparing teenagers to become contributing citizens who are self-confident and possess skills needed to thrive in society.
